About the role

- You will coordinate activities with CONVEX and other regions when system conditions cross jurisdictional lines and may serve as a Switching Director as assigned.

Requirements
- Successful completion is required to remain in the position.
- Successful candidates will be required to pass pre-employment System Operator/Power Dispatcher (SO/PD) Test.
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.

- Skills & Knowledge:
- Ability to act as customer advocate by assuring accurate and timely information is communicated on ETRs (Estimated Time of Restoration) and restoration remarks.

Nice to have
- High school diploma or the equivalent is required
- associate's degree in electrical discipline preferred.
- Three (3) years of related experience is required
- electrical utility experience is preferred.
Skills
- Thorough knowledge of switching/tagging procedures and understanding of distribution system operations.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable PC-based and other technologies, with the ability to learn future technologies.
- Ability to analyze electric distribution system problems and act accordingly.
- Write, check, approve, and issue switching, grounding, and tagging instructions.
- Analyze trouble calls and initiate corrective actions, including personnel callouts.
- Monitor circuit and substation loads and voltages to ensure safe operation.
- Coordinate switching with CONVEX and other internal/external stakeholders.
- Prepare and maintain operational records and reports.
- Operate PC-based and mainframe applications.
- Coordinate dispatching with internal teams and external agencies (e.g., police, fire, DEP).
- Subject to on-call duty.
- Ensure/Approve accurate and safe switching/tagging instructions and issue clearances.
Compensation
- Starting salary: $53.17/hour, with progression per union contract.
