About the role
- Provide feedback to management regarding results and make recommendations on findings to management.
- Demonstrate a thorough and expert understanding of the Global Capital Markets business and its functions, processes and operations.
- Remain current on business and market trends that may affect the business/department.
Responsibilities
- Develop and produce complex ad-hoc and automated departmental reports and spreadsheets, including but not limited to, project or product strategy analysis, profitability, historical reporting, work flow and financial analysis in support of the Global Capital Markets business.
- Research and gather business and financial information regarding business results to support these activities.
- Complete moderately complex analyses to support business decisions.
- Manage the planning, developing and implementing of various projects and initiatives within Global Capital Markets to achieve short and long-term business objectives.
- Develop project plans ensuring activities to be completed, estimated time frame and effort and other pertinent information are covered.
- Manage daily project activities.
- Manage budget, profitability and other business reporting. Analyze variances and report to management. Make recommendations on variances and methods to increase efficiency, lower costs, etc. Implement recommendations upon management approval.
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Requirements
- Highly skilled proficiency in use of pertinent spreadsheets, graphing and presentation software
- Working knowledge of financial models
- Excellent knowledge of pertinent operating systems
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in the field
- Minimum of 4 years' banking or other relevant industry experience
- Ability to work independently and function as a member of a project team
- Advanced degree

Compensation
- M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees.
- The pay range for this position is $94,400.00 - $157,400.00 Annual (USD).
- The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
