About the role
- Delegates patient care responsibilities per guidelines.
- Utilizes evidence-based occupational therapy treatment interventions.
- Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Provides direction to support and assistant staff.
- Maintains current data bases, evaluations, progress notes and discharge summaries according to department standards.
- Directs and supervises work of support personnel.
- Performs occupational therapy treatment procedures and techniques in a timely, efficient and efficacious manner while utilizing support staff effectively and appropriately.
- Evaluates quality of care delegated to support personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in accredited Occupational Therapy Program National Registration required.
- American Heart Association required
- Department of Regulatory Agencies required
- Performs all required data collection for department and agency accurately and within designated time frame.
- Demonstrates competency skills in required areas of practice.
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association required
- OT-Occupational Therapist - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies required
Skills
- Knowledge of theory, principles and practice of occupational therapy.
- Knowledge of safety principles in patient care environment.
- Knowledge of standards, policies and procedures of Denver Health as they pertain to occupational therapy.
- Ability to integrate requirements of the facility and/or regulatory agencies into clinical decisions and documentation.
- Ability to abide by the ethical guidelines as outlined by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Ability to successfully modify communication style and approach according to the situation in order to promote positive results.
Compensation
- Paid time off starting at 28 days per year, inclusive of vacation, personal/sick, and 7 Holidays
