About the role

  • You will be a hands‑on software and data engineer supporting United States Air Force programs.
  • The ideal candidate can write code daily, apply data analytics to complex datasets, and effectively communicate technical approaches with senior Air Force stakeholders.
  • This role does not start as a people‑management position, but requires a strong technical background and DoD experience.

Responsibilities

  • Write, maintain, and deploy code supporting software and data tools
  • Build data pipelines, transform data, and automate workflows
  • Create dashboards or visualizations that inform decisions
  • Maintain strict adherence to classification and data handling requirements
  • Collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility (required prior to start)
  • Practical experience with at least one high‑level programming language used in DoD environments (e.g., Python, Java, C#) with code samples or demonstrable work
  • Experience in cloud platforms commonly used in DoD (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure Government)

Skills

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in software engineering and/or data engineering
  • Strong data engineering and analytics experience (SQL, ETL, data pipelines)
  • Experience with relational databases and querying large datasets
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Python visualization libraries)
  • Experience in CI/CD workflows (build/test/deploy automation)
  • Familiarity with basic software engineering best practices (version control, unit testing)
  • Operational & DoD Context
  • Experience working in DoD or cleared contractor environments
  • Ability to communicate technical approaches and status to senior stakeholders
  • DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS (nice‑to‑have)
  • Experience with classification guidance or classification compliance workflows (including Security Classification Guides)
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux environments
