About the role
- Work Arrangement Onsite role at the Tampa, FL Office with potential travel to testing sites as needed.
- Periods of development may require long irregular hours around deadlines, weekends, and some holidays and in-field test environments.
- Job Overview As an Aerospace engineering manager within AEVEX Aerospace, you will be responsible for the supervision, development and tasking of a group of engineers who share your specific discipline.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.

- Frequently required to sit, and to reach to use computers and other office equipment
- Expert-level knowledge of aerospace and mechanical engineering technology and processes
- Strong strategic thinking, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong background in SOLIDWORKS CAD design, 3D printing, payloads, propulsion, and mechanical systems
- Flexible thinking, including the ability to pivot and try new approaches when faced with challenges
- Strong organizational, planning, and documentation skills
- Proficiency in using presentation software to explain complex information to non-technical management personnel and other stakeholders
- Strong ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously
- Strong knowledge in Jira, Confluence, and MS Project
- Directs and provides expert knowledge in the day-to-day function of the department.
- Identifies, recruits, and retains top-notch talent.

- Oversees and contributes to project logistics and resource allocation.
- Secures the resources needed for teams to excel, including researching and proposing capital investments.
- Attends trade shows and conferences and makes site visits to suppliers' facilities.
- Advocates on behalf of team members by securing adequate resources for success.
- Assures that processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Regular and reliable attendance on a full time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule].
- Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices.
