About the role
- We're hiring a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for our Cleveland Rolling Mill night shift.
Responsibilities
- Charter Manufacturing is a fourth-generation family-owned business where our will to grow drives us to do it better.
- In this role, you'll support plant operations by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, gearboxes, overhead cranes, and power transmission equipment.
- You'll also partner with the electrical maintenance team while contributing to a safe and efficient work environment.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience
- Expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, welding, machining, and mechanical systems
- Ability to read blueprints and use technical manuals
Nice to have
- Journeyman certification or apprenticeship completion
- Welding experience (SMAW, MIG, and/or TIG)
- Steel industry experience
- Safety awareness training
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment across the facility
- Analyze test results, error messages, and operator feedback to diagnose and resolve issues
- Utilize machining centers to fabricate or modify parts as needed
- Fulfill all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the job description

- Basic math and computer skills
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
