About the role

  • GMP is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) team in Tyler, Texas.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on schedule
  • Prepare monthly client financial reports under the direction of CAAS Seniors

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day bookkeeping for assigned clients, including transaction coding, journal entries, and bank reconciliations
  • Support month-end close activities and contribute to client financial reporting
  • Maintain organized, accurate client workpapers and documentation that meet firm quality standards

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (recent graduates welcome)
  • 5+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related professional experience
  • Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals (debits/credits, general ledger, journal entries)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • comfort working in technology-forward environments
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred, or strong willingness to learn quickly
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute within a collaborative public accounting environment
  • Prior internship experience at a public accounting firm (preferred, but not required)
