About the role
- The Controller is responsible for all aspects of accounting operations, month-end close, payroll, AP/AR, tax compliance, and technical accounting under ASC 606/IFRS 15.
- We are looking for a proactive owner - someone who takes an overall interest in the business, continuously improves workflows and reconciliations, and can master a complex billing and revenue cycle.
- Key Accountabilities Direct and control all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and all month-, quarter-, and year-end close activities.
Responsibilities
- This role will lead continuous process improvement, implement scalable controls, and act as a key finance partner in a fast-paced environment.
- Develop a deep understanding of the Company's complex billing and revenue cycle, working closely with Revenue Operations and Legal to ensure alignment on contract terms and how they convert to revenue.
- Develop, document, and implement efficient internal controls, scalable processes, and continuous improvements to workflows and reconciliations across all finance functions.
- Director, Finance on financial statement preparation, and provide key support for budgeting and forecasting.
- Manage external audit, tax, and valuation providers and associated audit and compliance activities.
- Partner with leadership on strategic projects and business process change.

- Own the Company's finance systems, including NetSuite, Bill, and related tools, ensuring accurate data flow, integration, and system utilization.

Skills
- San Francisco based - this will be a hybrid model with 2 days per week in our South San Francisco office.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- Proven experience as a Controller or Senior Accounting Manager in SaaS or recurring-revenue businesses (PE-backed preferred).
- Mastery of NetSuite, Bill, and related accounting/finance systems.
- Deep technical knowledge of ASC 606/IFRS 15 for SaaS and service contracts.
- Track record of designing and driving accounting and operational process change, ideally in high-growth/PE/start-up environments.
- Proactive, ownership-minded operator who takes an overall interest in the business.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
