About the role

  • This role involves preparing engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation, ensuring compliance with municipal and provincial standards.
  • Participate in client and project meetings, providing valuable input and insights.
  • Contribute to the growth of the Electrical department through the review and development of standards and templates.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical Traffic Signal Designer is responsible for supporting the design, development, and implementation of traffic signal.
  • Design and implementation of electrical systems for Infrastructure projects, including Traffic signal.
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, specifications, and reports in accordance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with civil engineers, and other multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into larger projects.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and design teams.
  • 3-5+ years of progressive experience in traffic signal, roadway and electrical design

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree on Electrical Engineering, Civil engineering or College diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Strong working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and applicable transportation standards (OTM BOOK 12, OPSD, OPSS)
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D softwares used for infrastructure projects.

Skills

  • Knowledge of sustainability initiatives and energy-efficient design practices.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in good standing with a Canadian engineering regulator
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with both internal teams and external clients.
