About the role
- Ameresco is offering an associate level position, based in our Boston, MA office.
- are a mix of recurring responsibilities and individual project-based work.
Responsibilities
- Understand the intersection between the NERC standards and the Generator Owner and Generator Operator roles, and the other functional parties (balancing authority, reliability coordinator, etc.) who may have their own data requirements and systems.
- Manage Ameresco relationships with compliance consultants.
- Lead response to RFIs or audits from NERC or submitting registrations and self-certifications in partnership with external consultants.
- Ensure that O&M field services programs, training and data maintenance align with standards requirements and implement improvements if needed.
- Partner with O&M field services and engineering to drive the process if there are malfunctions, grid events or other issues that trigger a need for an investigation and remedial action.
- Advising the development teams on applicability of standards for new projects, specifically what protective equipment, relay settings, and other items should be incorporated into project design and schedule processes and requirements.
- Manage EIA-860, EIA-923, and FERC EQR submissions and updates.
- Build a company-wide Culture of Compliance.
- The selected candidate will support the operation of large scale solar and battery energy storage projects and work closely with the analysts, engineers, project development and operations and maintenance staff who create and manage these projects.
Requirements
- Bachelors or masters degree in business, economics, energy or engineering fields.
- Minimum of 2 years working in regulatory or compliance fields, with a preference for experience with NERC requirements associated with large scale energy infrastructure.
- Excellent computer skills including strong proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
Nice to have
- Strong verbal, written, technical communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with VBA, Python, SQL, or other programming languages.
