About the role
- This person oversees all trade compliance aspects of borders crossing inbound and outbound shipments for these business units.
- Key to this is driving business results and best practices through compliance and strong collaboration with functional leaders and teams across the company.
- For this reason the Trade Compliance Manager will have in-depth knowledge of Customs Regulations, the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and Export Regulations.
Requirements
- Required Years Of Experience, 2 Years with international business.
- Broad range of experience and capabilities with Customs regulations, communications and general importer/exporter customs operations.
- Preferred Education, Associate's Degree, Technical Degree, Business Administration Degree, International Trade Compliance Certification or equivalent years of experience in a Trade Compliance role.
Nice to have
- U.S. Licensed Customs broker preferred
Skills
- Strong knowledge of international trade laws and regulations, including tariffs, trade agreements, and customs procedures.
- Proficiency in performing internal audits using established methodologies.
- Experience with customs entry and export/import processes and software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- High attention to detail and integrity.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Technical aptitude manipulating data using Excel, Access, ERP platform software, SaaS software, and additional proprietary software systems.
- Assign proper harmonized tariff codes (HTS) and export control classification numbers (ECCN) to all manufactured and purchased products.
- Assist with maintenance of Import and Export Compliance Manuals for U.S. operations.
- Determine application of Participating Government Agency (PGA) regulations for applicable HTS codes and imports.
- Ensure accurate and complete recordkeeping of all trade transactions pursuant to domestic and international trade requirements.
- Interpret Customs rulings, explanatory notes, and technical product drawing to assist in assignment of proper HTS classifications.

- Assign proper harmonized tariff codes (HTS) and export control classification numbers (ECCN) to all manufactured and purchased products
