About the role

  • The DevX Tools team is hiring a Software Development Engineer II.
  • The DevX Tools team is part of Engineering Platform's Developer Experience organization.
  • We are responsible for improving the developer experience through tooling, automation, and centralization of critical information needed by developers across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate well-architected software systems that improve the developer experience across CarGurus engineering.
  • Build features for Showroom, our internal developer portal that powers deployments, governance, software catalogs, and self-service workflows.
  • Support initiatives such as jobs replatforming, AI-powered code review tooling, agent-driven provisioning workflows, AI-powered AWS infrastructure provisioning and CI/CD pipeline modernization.
  • Strong foundation in Java and familiarity with object-oriented design, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Experience building web applications or backend services, ideally with Spring Boot / Spring Framework.

Compensation

  • The displayed range represents the expected annual base salary / On-Target Earnings (OTE) for this position. On-Target Earnings (OTE) is inclusive of base salary and on-target commission earnings, which applies exclusively to sales roles.
  • This annual base salary forms part of a comprehensive Total Rewards Package.
  • Position Pay Range
  • $112,000 - $141,000 USD
