About the role
- This role serves as the primary technical authority for gas-fired assets during the transition from engineering through commissioning and into operations.
- This role initially reports to the Head of O&M and will transition to report to the Head of Commissioning and Reliability as the organization evolves.
Responsibilities
- Upstream Design & Multi-OEM Exhibit Review
- Lead the review and refinement of EPC contract exhibits related to commissioning, performance testing, and mechanical completion, ensuring commissioning-by-phase requirements are clearly defined.
- Direct and manage third-party commissioning teams, defining scope, verifying progress, and ensuring alignment with project schedules.
- Ensure capture of high-quality commissioning data, including performance curves and baseline operating profiles, to support long-term reliability programs.
- Lead the technical transition to operations teams, ensuring complete and accurate transfer of documentation, test results, and system configurations.
- Strong ability to lead third-party teams while providing technical guidance and challenge to upstream engineering and design decisions.
Requirements
- Participate in early-stage engineering design reviews to ensure modular engine pods and turbine enclosures include the instrumentation required for parallel commissioning.
- 10+ years of experience in power plant commissioning, with direct expertise across reciprocating engines and gas turbine technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Compensation

- About This Role
- The Head of Gas Commissioning is a high-level technical leader responsible for defining and executing the end-to-end commissioning strategy across a diverse fleet of power generation assets, including large-scale reciprocating engine plants and gas turbine installations.
- A critical component of this role is upstream influence, ensuring that EPC exhibits, modular designs, and multi-OEM system architectures are optimized for successful field execution, performance validation, and long-term reliability.
