About the role

  • This role serves as the primary technical authority for gas-fired assets during the transition from engineering through commissioning and into operations.
  • This role initially reports to the Head of O&M and will transition to report to the Head of Commissioning and Reliability as the organization evolves.

Responsibilities

  • Upstream Design & Multi-OEM Exhibit Review
  • Lead the review and refinement of EPC contract exhibits related to commissioning, performance testing, and mechanical completion, ensuring commissioning-by-phase requirements are clearly defined.
  • Direct and manage third-party commissioning teams, defining scope, verifying progress, and ensuring alignment with project schedules.
  • Ensure capture of high-quality commissioning data, including performance curves and baseline operating profiles, to support long-term reliability programs.
  • Lead the technical transition to operations teams, ensuring complete and accurate transfer of documentation, test results, and system configurations.
  • Strong ability to lead third-party teams while providing technical guidance and challenge to upstream engineering and design decisions.

Requirements

  • Participate in early-stage engineering design reviews to ensure modular engine pods and turbine enclosures include the instrumentation required for parallel commissioning.
  • 10+ years of experience in power plant commissioning, with direct expertise across reciprocating engines and gas turbine technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Compensation

  • About This Role
  • The Head of Gas Commissioning is a high-level technical leader responsible for defining and executing the end-to-end commissioning strategy across a diverse fleet of power generation assets, including large-scale reciprocating engine plants and gas turbine installations.
  • A critical component of this role is upstream influence, ensuring that EPC exhibits, modular designs, and multi-OEM system architectures are optimized for successful field execution, performance validation, and long-term reliability.
