About the role

We have an immediate opening for an Analytical Lab Chemist at our Strasburg, OH location.
The Analytical Lab Chemist will be responsible for safely conducting routine and specialized chemical analysis, precisely following written work instructions (test methods) in order to generate accurate and timely results.
Learns and practice all aspects of laboratory instrumentation, gas chromatography (GC), High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), UV/Visible Spectrophotometry, FTIR, etc.

The data generated will be legibly documented and will primarily support production needs.
Conducts specialized analytical testing as directed by the Laboratory Manager, in support of development projects, new products, method troubleshooting or as part of Out of Specification investigations.
Conducts analytical work in support of cleaning validations and engineering trials.
Performs general housekeeping and glassware cleaning.
Performs other assignments as requested by the Lab Manager.
Maintain and promote strong work ethics and uphold all KTP policies and procedures.
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with information.

This candidate must have common knowledge of basic chemistry techniques and analytical testing and instrumentation.
This candidate must have the ability to troubleshoot laboratory instruments and perform routine preventative maintenance.
This candidate must have the ability to work extra hours, including some limited weekend work, when necessary to handle spikes in workload and meet deadlines is required.
Candidates must be agile in adapting to and working in an ever changing, fast paced, and diverse production environment.
Properly documents all results according to Standard Operating Procedure and Work Instructions and review the work of other laboratory personnel as required.
Compile and summarize data, when required.
Requires a Bachelor's degree with a strong emphasis in natural science.
Must have excellent communications skills (written and verbal).
Demonstrated excellence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point), experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Outlook, and statistical analysis software.

Communicate (verbally and written) with management, coworkers, suppliers, and customers.
