Responsibilities
- Process Ownership & Maturation: Develop, document, and stabilize assembly processes specifically for pouch cell manufacturing, taking ownership of a shifting and evolving pilot line environment.
- Data-Driven Troubleshooting: Create, plan, and execute Design of Experiments (DOEs) to understand the assembly processing window. Utilize production data to systematically troubleshoot and resolve complex process and equipment issues.
- Adaptability to the Unknown: Comfortable operating in "grey areas" where documentation or processes might be incomplete; proactively drive clarity and establish control where it doesn't yet exist.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with R&D, sourcing, and production teams to align day-to-day pilot line operations with development schedules and cell integration targets. Help do develop junior engineers in engineering methods.
- Documentation: Develop and iterate detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), control plans, and specification requirements as the pouch cell assembly process matures.
- Develop, document, and stabilize assembly processes specifically for pouch cell manufacturing, taking ownership of a shifting and evolving pilot line environment.
- Create, plan, and execute Design of Experiments (DOEs) to understand the assembly processing window.
- Comfortable operating in "grey areas" where documentation or processes might be incomplete; proactively drive clarity and establish control where it doesn't yet exist.
- Collaborate with R&D, sourcing, and production teams to align day-to-day pilot line operations with development schedules and cell integration targets.
- Help do develop junior engineers in engineering methods.
Requirements
- Typically, 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing, pilot, or scale-up environment.
- Minimum of 2 years working with battery cell stacking, notching, and/or assembly equipment.
- Demonstrable track record of solving complex process engineering issues.
- Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals, statistical concepts, and proficiency with data tools (Excel, MATLAB, JMP, Minitab, etc.)
- Must be able to sit, stand and use a computer for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Must be able to lift, up to 50 lbs.
- No physical limitations to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators when required.
- Must be able to occasionally work in a dry room setting.
- Employment in this position is conditioned on the continued availability of government authorization to authorize release of such items, to the extent required, including without limitation an export license, or other documentation required to establish authorization to receive access to such items.

Compensation
- This compensation and benefits information is based on Lyten's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future.
- We generally do not negotiate on salary once we have made an offer.
- The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise.
- New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.
- In addition to base pay this position is eligible for tier based bonus and equity, healthcare, dental, vision, corporate discounts, paid holidays, PTO and sick time, 401K, employee relocation plan (if applicable)
