About the role
- Be the next member of our growing team at Browns Restaurant Group (BRG).
- Demonstrate accountability and reliability by delivering assigned work accurately and on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Design & Technical Excellence:
- Assist in project execution from design to handover completion by engaging in standard BRG design processes, coordinating design information, sample materials, up to date project documentation and communications.
- Contribute to design development by sourcing, organizing and maintaining the samples library while ensuring excellent vendor relations.
- Apply a hospitality focused mindset and consider guest experience, operational needs and business objectives when supporting lead designers with design.
- Assist in responding to design team and project requests in a timely and collaborative manner.
- Learn and apply BRG construction team processes and supports requirements during the construction phase.
- Support with base building landlord and consultant coordination including reviewing drawing sets for accuracy.
- Identify potential design risks and project impacts, escalating concerns and contributing to practical solutions.
- Build collaborative working relationships and communicate professionally with franchisees, consultants, vendors and internal team members.
- Present assigned work, project status updates and ideas through clear visuals to the design team and senior stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Interior Design (from CIDA accredited school).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Ability to use SketchUp and Revit an asset.
- Support the development of restaurant design concepts, while applying BRG design standards and building increased proficiency and accuracy in AutoCAD.
- 1-3+ years of commercial interior design experience, preferably in restaurant and hospitality environments.
- Understanding of restaurant front of house and back of house kitchen space planning, guest experience and operations an asset.
- Solid knowledge of construction materials, techniques, permitting, and building codes.
- Familiarity with sourcing and purchasing materials/design elements.
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to effectively manage change within tight deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail and quality.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with all levels of the organization, and relevant external contacts.
- Hospitality background an asset.
