About the role

  • This position works independently under general supervision within their area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • As a Fiscal Specialist 2, you will join a team which supports the fiscal and administrative mission in the Department of Integrative Physiology and Neuroscience ( IPN) in the College of Veterinary Medicine.

  • This position will perform complex technical fiscal analysis and financial reporting including analysis, planning, interpretation and review of fiscal operations in alignment with the CVM BFO best practices/processes.
  • The successful candidate will perform financial reviews and analysis including accounting, auditing and budgeting with responsibilities such as making account coding decisions, holding signature authority on departmental accounts, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, initiating payments and ensuring compliance with regulations and alignment with the CVM best practices.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience at a level equivalent to Fiscal Specialist 1 AND 15 quarter hours OR 10 semester hours of college level accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to occasionally work additional hours, including evenings and weekends to meet grant submission deadlines.
  • Experience successfully meeting deadlines.

Compensation

  • $3,917 to $5,240 | Range 43 (Steps A-M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
  • In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position.
