About the role
- We are seeking a Product Owner - Merchandising Planning to join our Product Team in Montreal, QC.
- This role requires strong ownership, analytical thinking, and the ability to translate business needs into intuitive workflows, robust data models, and high-value product features.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the product backlog for Merchandising Planning in alignment with product strategy and business priorities.
- Drive Agile delivery through sprint ceremonies and ensure backlog readiness.
- Support predictable, high-quality delivery of planning features.
- Partner closely with merchandising and planning stakeholders.
- Manage dependencies across merchandising and planning systems.
- Support top-down and bottom-up planning, scenario modeling, and versioning requirements.
- Collaborate with architecture teams on ERP integrations.
- Work with data teams to support advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making.
- Support API-driven and event-based planning data flows.
- Align product design with composable ERP architecture and merchandising/planning data models.
Requirements
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Product Owner certification (CSPO or equivalent) is an asset.
- Experience
- 3-6+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in retail merchandising or planning systems.
- Strong experience in one or more of the following areas:
Nice to have
- Merchandise Planning
- Assortment Planning
- Financial Planning, including OTB, margin, and sales forecasting
- Preferred Experience
- Experience with merchandising and planning systems such as SAP, Oracle Retail, Blue Yonder, or Anaplan.
- Understanding of retail KPIs such as sell-through, GMROI, margin, and inventory turns.
- Familiarity with APIs, integrations, and planning data models.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and product lifecycle management.
Skills
- Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence
- Microsoft Teams, SharePoint
- SQL tools, APIs, data mapping
- Microsoft Copilot
- Exposure to analytics or AI-driven planning tools.
- Technical & Functional Skills
- Enterprise integrations such as ERP, merchandising systems, and planning tools
