About the role

  • Responsible for overall quality, efficiency, and safety in the performance of assigned technical duties.

Responsibilities

  • Performs, reviews, and reports complex laboratory tests in accordance with prescribed procedures according to standards set by FDA, CAP, AABB, GDHR and The Joint Commission.
  • Consults with technical lead, clinical specialist, supervisor, manager, or pathologist, when necessary, on unusual or abnormal results.
  • Prepares reagents, maintains an adequate supply of materials for test procedures and manages inventory to effectively reduce departmental waste/expense.
  • Helps maintain appropriate supply inventory/restocks workstation.
  • Supports and maintains a positive work environment following lab and hospital procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality Communicates effectively with peers.
  • Effectively processes workload in a timely manner, organizes workstation, operates, and maintains equipment in assigned area Correctly analyzes, performs maintenance, correctly troubleshoots all testing and QC problems following standard laboratory operating procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be able to use visual acuity to see monitor screen, computer, and hard copy materials.
  • Must be able to hear and verbally communicate in person and over the phone or radio.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time (up to 2 hours).

  • Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
  • Must be a High School or GED Diploma Graduate.

  • Department: 60901 Navicent Health Medical Center - Lab Status: Part time Benefits Eligible: No Hours Per Week: 0 Schedule Details/Additional Information: PRN for core laboratory Days (6:30 AM - 3 PM) and evenings (2:30 PM - 11 PM) Pay Range
