About the role
- This role will play a key part in supporting electronic engineering within a collaborative defense and technology environment.
- The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the Air Force's Space and Missiles System Center.
- We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop, author, and maintain Satellite Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for spacecraft, ground systems, payloads, and cross‑system interfaces.
- Develop interface diagrams, data dictionaries, message formats, command and telemetry mappings, and system‑level interface descriptions.
- Identify interface risks and drive technical issue resolution across engineering teams.
- Support system integration and test activities by providing authoritative interface documentation and clarification.
- Manage and coordinate Interface Control Working Groups (ICWGs), ensuring consistent communication across all stakeholders.
- Develop acquisition and technical requirements-related briefings, plans, papers, and other documentation in support of Gov't decision making.
- Collaborating with prime contractors, other support contractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Space Force.
Requirements
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance required (U.S. citizenship is mandatory).
- An interim and/or final Secret clearance is required post‑start.
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in satellite systems, spacecraft development, or aerospace engineering.
- 5 years' experience working on DoD programs
- Proficiency in systems engineering tools (DOORS, Jama, Cameo, etc.).
- Must be eligible for Secret/TS/SCI Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Active U.S. secret security clearance required (or the ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance)
Nice to have
- SECRET/TS/SCI clearance
- 12+ years' experience with space systems in space or ground segments
- 12+ years' experience in a space acquisitions environment
- Experience in satellite hardware and software development
- Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
- Professional certifications, such as INCOSE CSEP, ESEP, ASEP or PMP
Compensation
- The anticipated salary range for this position is $135,000 to $198,000
