About the role

- Job Description SUMMARY: Reporting to the News Director, the editor edits video content for NJ PBS broadcasts, streaming platforms, and digital distribution.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with producers, the programming team and external content partners to develop story structure and pacing through the edit process.
- Manage and organize media assets in the MAM system, maintaining searchable metadata and project files.
- Maintain technical compliance for broadcast, digital, and streaming delivery, including loudness standards and frame-accurate editing.

Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in journalism, communications, broadcasting or a related field.
- Minimum three years of experience in working as a professional video editor.
- Experience editing content for broadcast or digital distribution to technical delivery specifications.
- Ability to meet daily news deadlines in a fast-paced production environment
- Experience in a public media or broadcast news editing environment.
- Familiarity with media asset management (MAM) systems.
- Knowledge of closed captioning and accessibility requirements.
- Demonstrated experience using video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, or equivalent)

Compensation
