About the role
- This includes supporting clients at volunteer work sites, community centers, and during community outings.
- The Instructor plays a vital role in promoting independence, social inclusion, and personal growth while ensuring health, safety, and dignity at all times.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on instruction and support in community-based volunteer work sites, ensuring participants understand tasks and complete them successfully.
- Support individuals in developing skills that promote independence, including social, vocational, and daily living skills.
- Assist with behavior support strategies and provide redirection when needed, following individualized plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including attendance, progress notes, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with supervisors, families, and other staff to support program goals and individual progress.

- About the role The BDSP II provides direct support, training, and guidance to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities to help them build skills for independent living.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record and ability to operate company or personal vehicle as required.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and assist individuals with mobility as needed.
Nice to have
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- some college coursework in human services or related fields preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities strongly preferred.
