About the role

  • This includes supporting clients at volunteer work sites, community centers, and during community outings.
  • The Instructor plays a vital role in promoting independence, social inclusion, and personal growth while ensuring health, safety, and dignity at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on instruction and support in community-based volunteer work sites, ensuring participants understand tasks and complete them successfully.
  • Support individuals in developing skills that promote independence, including social, vocational, and daily living skills.
  • Assist with behavior support strategies and provide redirection when needed, following individualized plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including attendance, progress notes, and incident reports.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, families, and other staff to support program goals and individual progress.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record and ability to operate company or personal vehicle as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and assist individuals with mobility as needed.

Nice to have

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • some college coursework in human services or related fields preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities strongly preferred.
