About the role
- This position will advise TC Energy's U.S. Natural Gas Pipelines business concerning environmental and pipeline safety legal matters.
- The scope of work encompasses high-stakes, cutting-edge legal issues related to the development of new pipeline infrastructure, as well as the operation of the Company's existing pipeline systems.
- The position will sit within the Environmental & Pipeline Safety Law team in the U.S. Natural Gas Pipelines Law department.
Responsibilities
- Manage matters and supervise external legal counsel within approved budget limits
- Provide legal support for the natural gas pipeline emergency response program
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university
- Ability to analyze complex matters in a proactive manner, proposing creative and practical solutions
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Ability to coordinate with other legal and business functions
Nice to have
- General understanding of the natural gas pipeline business
- Experience with federal and state permitting of pipelines and other energy infrastructure
