About the role

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Mold Fabrication & Assembly: Manufacture, assemble, and modify molds using machining techniques such as milling, grinding, drilling, and EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining).
  • Conduct regular maintenance and inspections to ensure molds remain in optimal condition.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings to create precise molds.
  • Mold Maintenance & Repair: Troubleshoot and repair worn or damaged molds to maintain production efficiency.
  • Perform hand-finishing techniques such as polishing, deburring, and fitting mold parts.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to company policies.

  • May be required to work in various areas of operations when necessary.

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, CAD designs, and precision measurement tools.

Skills

  • Operate CNC machines, lathes, grinders, and other precision tools to fabricate mold components.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in mold making, tool & die, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, CNC operation, and manual tooling techniques.
  • Apprenticeship or certification in Mold Making, Tool & Die, or related trade preferred.
  • Experience with injection molding, compression molding, or die-casting molds.
  • Understanding of various mold materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, plastic composites).
  • Familiarity with industry software such as AutoCAD, Mastercam, or SolidWorks.
  • Communication skills Attention to detail Good math skills.
  • Machining & Tooling: Operate CNC machines, lathes, grinders, and other precision tools to fabricate mold components.
