About the role

  • We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing and Supplier Quality Engineer to lead the manufacturing quality and end-to-end supplier quality management of Altera FPGA products.
  • In this role, you will partner cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and external manufacturing suppliers to ensure all quality requirements are met.
  • You will drive rapid issue resolution, govern supplier quality performance, and leverage statistical process controls and advanced data analytics to safeguard product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Drives manufacturing ramp of FPGA products, ensuring product quality and reliability compliance across industrial, commercial, automotive, and Aerospace, Defense, & Government (ADG) market segments.
  • Performs risk assessments, defines quality and reliability goals, and enables key decisions that affect product quality and reliability.
  • Drives manufacturing optimization, product quality excursion resolution, and High-Volume Manufacturing (HVM) reliability assessments to achieve continuous DPPM improvement.
  • Leads supplier quality management, ensuring OSAT partners comply with Altera, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and AS9100D quality requirements. Defines, monitors, and drives supplier quality KPIs and performance improvements.
  • Leads cross-functional teams to resolve supplier quality incidents and customer issues by driving root-cause analysis and executing robust Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) workflows.
  • Drives continuous supplier quality improvements and executes initiatives to reduce manufacturing and supplier-related quality incidents.
  • Leads and executes supplier qualification activities, including Bill of Materials (BOM), package configuration, OSAT qualification, and test site transitions.
  • Leads supplier quality audits to verify OSAT process compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and AS9100D standards, focusing on risk mitigation, traceability, counterfeit prevention, statistical process controls, and CAPA effectiveness.
  • Supports San Jose (SJ) production test operations by providing quality assurance oversight for production test stand-up activities, test process readiness, and ongoing production test quality maintenance to ensure manufacturing excellence.
  • Supports San Jose laboratory quality compliance by maintaining laboratory quality systems, including equipment calibration, ESD compliance, environmental controls, and adherence to established quality and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience across the semiconductor product lifecycle, including wafer fabrication, advanced packaging, semiconductor assembly, and automated test equipment (ATE) methodologies.
  • 8+ years of experience applying product reliability physics, failure analysis methodologies, and product qualification stress testing to support semiconductor product development and manufacturing.

  • 10+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing and supplier quality engineering, with a demonstrated track record of optimizing manufacturing workflows and resolving complex silicon, packaging, and product quality issues.
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification and 5+ years of experience working within ISO 9001 quality management systems, with demonstrated knowledge of AS9100D compliance frameworks and international Aerospace, Defense, and Government (ADG) quality requirements.
