Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys in representing employers in employment-related disputes, with a focus on high-volume litigation support
  • Manage and execute discovery, including drafting and responding to document requests, interrogatories, and subpoenas
  • Assist with case management, fact development, and document review
  • Support employment advice and counseling matters, including providing day-to-day HR guidance to clients
  • Draft, review, and update employee handbooks, policies, and workplace documents
  • Collaborate with attorneys and team members across offices
  • The San Diego office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP is seeking a Korean-speaking Labor and Employment Staff Attorney to support its growing practice.
  • This role is ideal for an attorney interested in developing practical experience in employment litigation support and day-to-day advice and counseling matters, with a particular focus on serving Korean-speaking clients.

Requirements

  • Fluency in Korean required (reading, writing, and speaking)
  • Strong experience with litigation support, particularly discovery and written work product

Nice to have

  • 2+ years of experience in labor and employment or general litigation (law firm experience preferred)

Skills

  • Have experience supporting employment litigation on behalf of employers
  • Have experience drafting or reviewing employee handbooks or HR policies
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, particularly in working with Korean-speaking clients
  • Thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
