About the role

  • Set technical direction and establish engineering standards, coding practices, and architectural patterns across the team.

Responsibilities

  • you'll architect scalable systems, drive engineering best practices, and partner closely with product and design to ship high-quality software.
  • Lead the architecture, design, and development of full stack applications spanning front-end (React/TypeScript) and back-end (Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript) systems.
  • Own technical project planning, breaking down initiatives into milestones, estimating effort, and coordinating delivery with product managers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, QA, and other engineering teams to deliver cohesive, high-quality features.
  • This role blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership; you'll architect scalable systems, drive engineering best practices, and partner closely with product and design to ship high-quality software.
  • Champion integration of AI-powered features, LLM-backed endpoints, and agentic workflows (tool use, retrieval-augmented generation, multi-step orchestration) where they deliver clear business value.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including full stack development across modern front-end and back-end technologies.
  • Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript on the front end, and Node.js/NestJS on the back end.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and MongoDB, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling.
  • Proven experience designing and managing REST and GraphQL APIs at scale.
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence for project tracking and documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2+ years in a technical lead, staff engineer, or engineering management capacity, with demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and drive technical decisions.
  • Deep understanding of system design, microservices architecture, and both object-oriented and functional programming paradigms.
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants (Claude AI, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar) as part of day-to-day development.
  • Excellent communication, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

  • Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Exposure to integrating LLMs and agentic frameworks into production systems - e.g., Anthropic Claude API, OpenAI API, function/tool calling, MCP (Model Context Protocol), LangChain, or similar is a strong plus.
