About the role
- While this role is primarily focused on automation engineering, you should also be comfortable performing exploratory, regression, and targeted manual testing when automation is not the most effective approach.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience as a software tester
- 2+ years of experience writing automated tests.
- Experience investigating test failures, analyzing logs, troubleshooting flaky tests, and collaborating with developers to resolve defects quickly.
- A working understanding of web service technologies (REST, SOAP, Web Sockets, OData) and experience in testing them effectively.
- Experience with Git and GitHub.
- Education: Some post-secondary education in computer science, software engineering, quality assurance, or software testing.
- Automation & Quality Engineering Skills:
- Understanding of modern testing practices, including atomic tests, reusable test components, test reliability, and shift-left quality practices.
- Demonstrate a keen desire to continually learn new test automation technologies and improve their programming skills to gain the expertise needed to build performant and efficient automated tests.
Skills
- Strong hands-on experience building automated test suites.
- Experience integrating automated tests in CI/CD pipelines and release workflows.
- Experience in investigating and implementing new test automation tools to expand existing coverage where needed.
- Proficient with testing on Windows, Mac OS, iOS, and Android.
- AccelQ automation experience
- Performance and load testing
- Outlook add-in testing
- Cloud/container testing
- Splunk/log analysis
- IaC/DevOps familiarity
- Previous developer experience
