About the role
- Coordinates, negotiates, communicates, and manages the care of assigned patient population along a continuum to facilitate achievement of optimal patient outcomes within appropriate LOS and resource utilization parameters.
- Qualifications
- Graduate of a school of nursing.
Responsibilities
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Nice to have
- Two (2) to Three (3) years recent clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting required.
- Three (3) years recent clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting with prior Care Management experience preferred.
- License and Certification:
- Current unrestricted License in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
- Certified Nurse Care Manager certification preferred.
Skills
- Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information.
- Basic computer skills (including opening/reading email, basic internet use).
- Working knowledge of third party payors as well as hospital's registration and billing processes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments, employees, physicians and managers.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Working knowledge of windows based software.
- Ability to influence and persuade members of the professional staff.
- Requires high level of analytical ability in order to gather and interpret information from various sources.
