About the role
- As a Staff Cloud Network Engineer, you will spearhead efforts to ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of our AWS cloud network infrastructure.
- You will be pivotal in defining and implementing best practices for cloud network security and traffic management across our global environment.
- Your technical leadership is needed to ensure ModMed's cloud network foundation is secure, high-performing, and seamlessly integrated with our hybrid cloud strategy.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with staff / architect group to produce standardized, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure, guardrails and best practices for development teams to deploy safely and quickly to production, with an emphasis on developer self-service
- Lead technical strategy in the following areas:
- Network Security & Traffic Management: Define and implement cloud network security standards, including advanced traffic routing, firewall management, and protection services like cloud-native WAF and DDoS protection services.
- Network Observability & Performance: Implement robust monitoring, traffic analysis, and flow logging to ensure performance, reliability, and cost-optimization of network resources.
- Implement and refine monitoring solutions using observability tools DataDog, ensuring proactive issue identification and efficient resource utilization.
- Lead the development of reusable IaC modules using tools like Terraform or Ansible to eliminate manual configuration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Deep proficiency with Terraform and other cloud-native technologies.
Nice to have
- Minimum 8 years in Cloud Engineering, SRE, software engineering, or a similar role, with a proven track record of solving complex problems in large-scale public cloud environments (AWS preferred).
