About the role
- The Factory Service Engineer is a hands-on, customer-focused technical expert responsible for supporting advanced thermal cutting systems, including CNC-controlled plasma and oxy-fuel equipment.
- Reporting to the Service Manager, NAM, this role plays a critical part in diagnosing complex system issues, improving equipment performance, and supporting customers and distributors worldwide.
- This position is ideal for someone who thrives on troubleshooting multi-disciplinary systems-combining mechanical, electrical, gas process, and CNC control technologies.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customer sites as needed to install, commission, repair, and optimize automated cutting systems
- Diagnose and resolve issues involving CNC software, HMIs, drives, motors, gantry systems, height control, and gas delivery systems
- Deliver technical training programs in the field covering operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Collaborating with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to drive reliability and performance improvements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to accuracy, consumable life, and efficiency
- Make customer-focused service decisions to maintain strong relationships
- Mentor and support service technicians
- Participate in rotating after-hours support
Nice to have
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
- Fluent in Spanish
- Experience with industrial automation, CNC systems, or thermal cutting technologies preferred
- Strong troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, and control systems
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Bilingual skills highly desirable
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Compensation
- $77,157.00-$89,413.00
