About the role

  • Job Description The Associate Controls Engineer will assist in the commissioning of automated sortation systems.
  • This position is focused on implementing site-based controls for new equipment within new or existing customer facilities.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates primarily at remote customer sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or comparable.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 - Office Apps.
  • Ability to take direction from Sr.
  • Familiar with basic electronic/electrical schematics or components
  • Low voltage electrical design and drawing creation.
  • Equivalent work experience will also be considered as a substitute for education.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with FORTNA team members, project managers and customers in a professional written and spoken manner.
  • Ability to take direction from Sr. Level Controls Engineers to support the project and ensure all aspects of project goals are achieved.

Nice to have

  • PLC programming (Rockwell Software, Siemens or Schneider)
  • HMI Programming (FactoryTalk View or Ignition)
  • Familiar with IO devices and device layout.
  • Industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP, Devicenet, Profinet, etc.)
  • Experience with Microsoft 365
  • Preferred: 0-2 years of experience within an industrial controls environment which includes:

Skills

  • Must be self-motivated, self-aware, detail-oriented, and results-focused.
  • Basic understanding of induction motors, programmable logic controllers and industrial networks is a plus.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to navigate safely over and around warehouse automation equipment.
  • Physical stamina may be required for prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and/or working in cramped quarters.
  • The noise level in the work environment can vary from being relatively quiet, to moderate, to excessive.

Compensation

  • The base salary range for this role is $66,100 to $99,200.
  • This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position.
  • Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
