About the role
- You are an HS&E Advisor, looking for a future opportunity in Central Canada.
- You will play a key role in the execution and implementation of a diverse range of health and safety programs for Telecommunication projects.
- Join our Technical Services team in Ottawa, ON.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the HS&E manager and HS&E coordinators across LTS to assist in the development, revision and implementation of procedures, standards, rules, and regulations
- Build and maintain a trusting relationship with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Verify that the HS&E plans, safe work processes and hazard assessments are current and updated as the scope of work changes and support site leadership with look ahead planning
- Assist in the investigation of incidents to determine causation and support the site leadership in the development of measurable corrective actions and monitoring for continuous improvement within the area of influence

- You will develop and enhance Job Hazard Analysis and Safe Work Practice documents based on existing materials as well as support operations personnel to meet Ledcor "Leading Indicator" requirements.
- You are a problem solver, a strong communicator and continuously look for innovative solutions that can be utilized to support projects.
- You are skilled at leveraging relationships with operational teams to drive continuous HS&E improvement.
Requirements
- 3+ years of related work experience in construction or telecommunications safety role.
- Must have and maintain a valid provincial driver's license and driver's abstract
- Has developed technical knowledge of common construction practices, techniques, and equipment
- Strong computer competency including experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- 3+ years of related work experience in construction or telecommunications safety role. Strong consideration would be given to candidates with Telecom experience
- Certificate or diploma in occupational health and safety. CRSP, CSO or NCSO designation is considered an asset
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information to the hourly workforce, while also effectively interacting with project management staff, clients, and customers
- Ability to provide a proactive approach to safety, to include identification of operational and organizational issues, as well as develop and implement strategies to solve them
- Demonstrated experience in risk assessment, program development, safety & health training, and accident investigation
Compensation
- This is the expected base pay range for this role.
- Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
- $71,200.00 - $97,900.00
