Responsibilities

  • Perform proper veni-puncture, finger stick procedures, and other tests identified by CLIA 88 regulations as being waived, using appropriate techniques.
  • Perform set-up and completion of special test-related phlebotomy procedures utilizing appropriate techniques.
  • Perform phlebotomy-related administrative and clerical procedures of the Front Desk Section of the Lab.
  • Fully document all samples obtained per the laboratory's standard operating procedures.
  • Interacting with other employees and lab management to provide efficient specimen processing service to patients. perform centrifugation procedures as instructed by lab management.
  • Correctly Deliver collected blood and urine samples to the appropriate departments at determined times.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of recent Phlebotomy experience.

Nice to have

  • National or state-recognized phlebotomy certification (e.g., CPT ASCP, NHA, AMT) is a plus.
  • Previous experience with the VA is a plus.
  • Previous experience as a phlebotomist is a plus.

Compensation

  • $21.00+ / hour Contract Length: 1 base year with 4, 1-year option periods Schedule: Monday through Friday (rotating weekends and no on-call) Day Shift - 9:00 -17:30 Evening Shift -15:00-23:30 Location: Augusta, Maine Requirements: Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • At least 3 years of recent Phlebotomy experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • National or state-recognized phlebotomy certification (e.g., CPT ASCP, NHA, AMT) is a plus.
  • Previous experience with the VA is a plus.
