About the role
- Hyperion is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic coach to work with our new Development Team on Wednesdays and Fridays.
- In addition, the coach should be available to substitute for other youth programs, such as our After-School Camp (Tuesdays and Thursdays), Club (Wednesdays and Fridays), and Varsity/JV Team (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays).
- All coaching shifts occur between 3:45 PM and 7:30 PM.
Responsibilities
- Coach the Dev Team and/or Camp and Club, focusing on bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing.
- Develop and lead strength training programs tailored to the needs of youth climbers, emphasizing injury prevention and appropriate strength gains.
- Collaborate with other coaches to design and implement high-quality training programs for Team Touchstone.
Requirements
- Coaching Skills: Ability to explain climbing techniques clearly and effectively to youth athletes.
- Must be available to coach on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM, and Fridays from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
- Experience in competitive climbing is desirable, but not required.
Nice to have
- Competition Climbing Experience: Experience in competitive climbing is desirable, but not required.
- Compensation Starting Pay is $21.50/hour.
