About the role

Grade 7 (Salaried) Position Description: The Counseling Center in the division of Student Affairs at the University of Louisville is seeking to hire a Counselor II.
The Counselor provides licensed therapeutic services for student patients including individual, group, and couples counseling and crisis intervention.
The work location is at the Health Sciences Center.

Master's degree from an accredited university in counseling, social work, counseling psychology, art therapy, clinical counseling or marriage and family therapy.
Two (2) years of experience in a clinical or counseling setting, including a college counseling center or community agency.
Must be licensed to function autonomously in KY.
Must be eligible to provide clinical supervision to 1+ graduate student trainees in compliance with licensing board requirements.
Provides clinical supervision to one or more graduate student trainees as required, in compliance with licensing board requirements for the position

Kentucky licensure allowing for autonomous functioning
Four (4) years of experience in a clinical or counseling setting
Strong organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience working with patients that have substance abuse issues and trauma
Experience with group therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma treatment
This is a full-time, exempt position with a 37.5-hour regular workweek.
Additional work hours may be required based on department needs, programming, and/or scheduling.
