About the role

  • We are seeking a Manager, Mental Health & Counselling Services to provide leadership, clinical oversight, and strategic direction to YSM's mental health programs.
  • This role will oversee program development, staff supervision, and external partnerships to ensure high-quality, accessible, and impactful mental health services aligned with YSM's mission and model of care.
  • Our goal is to address mental health barriers and empower individuals toward stability, healing, and long-term well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage departmental planning, budgeting, and alignment with organizational priorities and funder requirements.
  • Support staff in managing complex and high-risk cases, including crisis situations and safety planning.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counselling, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience, including leadership or management of clinical teams.
  • Strong clinical supervision experience and knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic practices.
  • Experience with program evaluation, reporting, and data systems (e.g., Salesforce) is an asset.
  • Registration in good standing with one of the following: College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) or Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, including individuals experiencing poverty, trauma, and complex mental health needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs, manage staff performance, and oversee service delivery.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and sectors.
  • Commitment to YSM's mission, Christian values, and faith-based identity (including signing YSM's Articles of Faith & Doctrine).

Compensation

  • YSM offers market competitive rates and will pay a starting salary of $85,000.00 for this role, combined with a comprehensive suite of benefits and perks.
