About the role
- Under general supervision, assists provider including all back office duties.
- Assists the RN with clinical clerical functions.
- Ensures smooth work and patient flow within the clinic.
Responsibilities
- Provides nursing support with various functions such as; invasive procedures, medication administration, performing appointment and registration scheduling functions.
Requirements
- Accredited program of Licensed Practical Nursing with an active LPN license Required
- Completion of a 160 hour Externship Required or
- 6 months direct patient care experience in an outpatient setting Required
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required
- Participates in competency reviews as required by department.
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required
Skills
- Knowledge of medical office practice.
- Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
- Knowledge of and the ability to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
- Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments as directed.
- Skill in taking vital signs.
- Skill in maintaining records and recording test results.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, employees, physicians and the public.
- Ability to maintain quality control standards.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
Compensation
- Paid time off starting at 28 days per year, inclusive of vacation, personal/sick, and 7 Holidays
