About the role

  • Many of the children HCZ works with go to public schools and attend its engaging after-school programs.
  • Whether in its Promise Academy charter schools or public schools, HCZ's high standards and expectations are the same for all its children-ensuring that all of them are on track to attend college and successfully graduate.
  • The program provides 500+ students in grades K-12 a safe, nurturing, and educational environment that fosters self-confidence and personal and social development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and execute the basketball athletics curriculum
  • Create a program that will include daily conditioning, fundamental drills, and a strategic playbook
  • Collaborate and consult with staff on student performance in various athletic activities and schoolwork
  • Maintain ongoing communication with Athletics Program Director
  • Perform other duties as assigned Qualification, Skills, and Knowledge Requirements

Requirements

  • A degree and at least two years of coaching experience
  • Must have strong knowledge and a keen understanding of basketball
  • Must be able to travel to away games or events
  • Must have strong leadership and organizational skills, excellent writing and communication skills
  • Monday-Thursday 11 AM-4:30 PM Friday 11 AM-4:30 PM Potentially working Saturdays or Sundays is required, depending on the sport & game schedule.

Compensation

  • $25k-$30k
