About the role

  • This position will prepare, dispense, and compound medication under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, review and interpret prescriptions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prescription support services for patients to ensure safe, appropriate, effective and efficient delivery of medication therapy.
  • Deliver medications accurately to the patient.
  • Assist with inventory, maintain a clean work environment, and assist with any other administrative duties as assigned by supervising pharmacists or senior technicians.

Requirements

  • Incumbents in Arizona are also required to provide the AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire.
  • Ability to attend and successfully complete 160 hours of on the job training required.
  • Ability to complete moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a hand-held calculator is required.

Nice to have

  • Associates or bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • Proficiency and experience with third party claims adjudication and claims rejection reconciliation preferred.
  • Proficiency and experience with non-sterile, sterile and hazardous drug compounding preferred.
  • Experience and proficiency with computer software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) or comparable program.
