- Job Description Summary The Lukesh Research Group in the Department of Chemistry at Wake Forest University invites applications for a postdoctoral research position in organic chemistry and chemical biology.
Responsibilities
- Design, synthesize, and characterize small molecules through multistep organic synthesis.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and organized research records, including laboratory notebooks and electronic data files.
- Responsible for own work.
Requirements

- Employees are required to follow any other job-related instructions and perform job-related duties as may be reasonably assigned by his/her supervisor.
Skills
- Ph.D in chemistry or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skilled in the safe and accurate use of chemical reagents.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Proficiency in the use of computers including spreadsheets, safety training and online ordering.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Moderate physical activity.
- Research background in synthetic organic chemistry and/or chemical biology.
