About the role
- This role is responsible for daily dispatch execution, driver coordination, container and chassis management, and issue resolution in a fast-paced port environment.
- We are seeking candidates with extensive experience in port and drayage operations, strong communication skills for effectively coordinating with drivers and carriers, and the ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
Responsibilities
- Maintain consistent communication with drivers regarding assignments, schedules, changes, and performance expectations.
- Manage empty container inventory, including returns and repositioning.
- Collaborate with internal teams and perform additional operational or administrative duties as needed.
- Cargomatic is seeking experienced Port Dispatchers to support high-volume drayage operations in Savannah.
Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of port/drayage dispatch experience.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a high volume of daily moves.
- ability to resolve issues quickly and professionally.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands.
- Validate Proof of Delivery (POD), interchange documents, and other required paperwork.
Nice to have
- Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.

- Competitive hourly pay ($24-$26/hour, DOE) with performance-based incentives.
