About the role

  • The MA works closely with patients, handling both front- and back-office functions in a fast-paced medical setting.
  • The Medical Assistant functions under the direction of the Nurse Supervisor and/or Practice/Office Manager.
  • of the role include gathering and recording vital signs and other pertinent patient information for the visit, preparing patients for exams, assisting during treatments, coordinating tests and follow-up care, and recording treatment in the medical record.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with the patient and significant others and/or family (as appropriate); keeping the patient at ease in the office through a collaborative and communicative approach to all care rendered.
  • Maintains the safety needs of the patient at all times.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration Collaborates with providers, nurses, and clinical staff to uphold continuity and consistency of care.

Requirements

  • All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
  • May be required to support front office operations by assisting with check-in, check-out, scheduling, and other non-clinical functions.

Nice to have

  • Experience in the physician practice setting Preferred and Minimum 1 year Experience in the area or specialty the candidate is applying for

Skills

  • Must be able to work quickly and efficiently to assure patient comfort and satisfaction.
  • High Ability to read, write and speak English language; basic computer skills required.
  • High Must be organized and attentive to detail.
