About the role

  • The Technical Studies Adjunct Instructor is a part-time position.
  • The instructor will engage students with classroom and lab instruction using the NCCER curriculum.
  • This position will require in-person work at an off-campus instructional site in Altavista, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Classroom instruction/management Lab instruction/ management Be able to perform and supervise trade-related work Maintain a safe working environment Work with classroom-related technology i.e. Canvas, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint … Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
  • May be required to travel
  • May be required to sit to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
  • Regularly required to hear and speak to effectively communicate orally.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus.
  • However, must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Regularly required to perform work related to the trade.
  • Computer skills.
  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
  • Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds. However, must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Nice to have

  • It is preferred that the instructor have a college degree.

Skills

  • Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University.
