About the role

  • Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented accurately and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
  • Consults with supervising physician and/or other medical staff regarding examination to be performed.
  • Prepares patient for procedures by providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.

Responsibilities

  • Performs ultrasound procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of sterile supplies and techniques utilized for procedures in the ultrasound area.
  • Maintains appropriate knowledge to recognize anatomical structures.

Requirements

  • Must be ARDMS registered in Vascular Ultrasound or ARRT (VS)
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of the various types of ultrasound equipment in use in the department.

Nice to have

  • Computer experience.

Skills

  • Use common sense and special medical skills to care for the sick or handicapped with regard to the patient's age and condition.
