About the role
- Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented accurately and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
- Consults with supervising physician and/or other medical staff regarding examination to be performed.
- Prepares patient for procedures by providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
Responsibilities
- Performs ultrasound procedures.
- Maintains knowledge of sterile supplies and techniques utilized for procedures in the ultrasound area.
- Maintains appropriate knowledge to recognize anatomical structures.
Requirements
- Must be ARDMS registered in Vascular Ultrasound or ARRT (VS)
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of the various types of ultrasound equipment in use in the department.
Nice to have
- Computer experience.
Skills
- Use common sense and special medical skills to care for the sick or handicapped with regard to the patient's age and condition.
