About the role

  • Job Description Everforth ECS is seeking a Cloud Engineer to work in our Quantico, VA office.
  • Please Note: This position is contingent upon additional funding.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, configure, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Architect and support highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable AWS environments aligned with AWS Well-Architected Framework best practices.
  • Configure and manage core AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, CloudWatch, and related services.
  • Support multi-environment (Dev, Test, Prod) cloud deployments while ensuring configuration consistency and security compliance.
  • Implement and manage networking components including VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, NAT gateways, and load balancers.
  • Implement security best practices including least-privilege IAM, encryption at rest and in transit, and logging/auditing controls.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, security, engineering, and data teams to support application deployment and operational stability.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate has strong AWS experience and a deep understanding of cloud architecture principles, security best practices, automation, and operational excellence.
  • Strong experience with AWS core services including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
  • 5+ years of experience using Infrastructure-as-Code (CloudFormation or Terraform).
  • Strong understanding of AWS networking (VPC architecture, subnets, routing, security groups, NACLs, NAT gateways).
  • Experience with automation and scripting (Bash, Python).

Compensation

  • $150,000 - $200,000 General Description of Benefits Required Skills ship and active Top-Secret Clearance.
