About the role

Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines using Databricks (PySpark, SQL) across Azure and GCP environments.
- Architect and manage Snowflake and BigQuery data warehouse solutions for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Drive hands-on coordination of engineering tasks, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
- Implement and maintain data governance, lineage, and security using tools like Unity Catalog, Terraform, and GitLab CI/CD.

Skills
- 12+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on cloud-native data pipelines.
- Expert-level proficiency in Databricks, PySpark, SQL, and data orchestration.
- Proven experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, and healthcare data formats (FHIR, HL7, claims, EMR).
- Strong understanding of Azure and GCP cloud services including Data Factory, Synapse, Cloud Composer, and Google Cloud Storage.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, DevOps for data, and infrastructure-as-code.
Compensation
- The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
- At Fractal, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
- A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $90,000 - $115,000.
