About the role

  • The ideal SDET is comfortable tackling challenging problems, learning unfamiliar technologies independently, and designing testing strategies for features where traditional UI automation is not enough.
  • Success in this role means taking ownership, and ensuring confidence in every release.
  • This role goes beyond validating traditional UI elements such as buttons, forms, and text.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable, and reliable test automation frameworks
  • Create and execute automated tests for backend services, REST APIs, integrations, and end-to-end user workflows
  • Design automation strategies for complex application features, including interactive maps, geospatial data, dynamic visualizations, and other non-standard UI components
  • Validate cloud-native applications deployed on AWS and ensure system reliability across distributed architectures
  • Troubleshoot application and test failures, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues efficiently
  • Partner closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and DevOps teams to promote quality throughout the entire SDLC

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in Software Development and Test Automation
  • Experience with API testing tools such as REST Assured, Supertest, or equivalent frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services
  • Experience validating, troubleshooting, and testing applications deployed in AWS environments

Nice to have

  • Experience testing microservices and distributed systems
  • Experience validating interactive maps, GIS/geospatial features, data visualizations, canvas-based applications, or other highly interactive user interfaces
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
