About the role

  • This is a role for someone who enjoys solving complex backend problems and wants to grow within a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Feature Development: Build and maintain backend services and APIs using Python.
  • Database & Systems: Design, implement, and optimize data models across Postgres, DynamoDB, and Redis.
  • Collaboration: Partner with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver end-to-end features.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of backend engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience building distributed web applications.
  • Familiarity with Postgres, DynamoDB, and Redis for data modeling and optimization.
  • Experience designing and consuming RESTful services.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of delivering production-ready systems.

Nice to have

  • Experience in fintech, credit cards, or financial infrastructure.
  • Exposure to microservices, event-driven architectures, or streaming systems.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring tools.

Compensation

  • $120,000-$160,000 (determined by experience, qualifications, and location)
  • Competitive salary with a meaningful stake in the company via equity
  • Mortgage Benefit: Receive up to $25,000 toward closing costs of a new mortgage via our mortgage partners
