About the role
- This is a role for someone who enjoys solving complex backend problems and wants to grow within a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Feature Development: Build and maintain backend services and APIs using Python.
- Database & Systems: Design, implement, and optimize data models across Postgres, DynamoDB, and Redis.
- Collaboration: Partner with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver end-to-end features.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Python and experience building distributed web applications.
- Familiarity with Postgres, DynamoDB, and Redis for data modeling and optimization.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful services.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of delivering production-ready systems.
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, credit cards, or financial infrastructure.
- Exposure to microservices, event-driven architectures, or streaming systems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring tools.

Compensation
- $120,000-$160,000 (determined by experience, qualifications, and location)
- Competitive salary with a meaningful stake in the company via equity
