About the role
- Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for the recruitment, selection, and enrollment of the first-year and transfer class each year for the School of Arts & Sciences, School of Engineering, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts.
- Admissions is charged with meeting various enrollment goals across schools and programs.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the undergraduate admissions senior leadership team, developing and implementing office-wide policy and practice in conjunction with the Dean of Admissions & Enrollment Management, Director of Undergraduate Admissions, and leadership team colleagues.
- Partner with office leadership to oversee the review of final academic records of all enrolling students and facilitate hand-off of class to school officials.
- Partner with office leadership and institutional stakeholders to analyze application review processes to ensure effectiveness and regulatory compliance of selection processes.
- Communicate with external partners, such as College Board, Common Application, Scoir, and Coalition for College, to support portfolio and office-wide initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal partners, including the Admissions and Student Services Technology Team, regarding data, systems, including Slate CRM,, and process-related work.
- Reporting to the Dean of Admissions & Enrollment Management, the Director of Admissions Selection serves as a member of the undergraduate admissions leadership team, developing and implementing office-wide strategy, policy, and practice with colleagues.
- In addition, will partner with the Dean of Admissions and Director of Undergraduate Admissions to ensure enrollment objectives are met.
- As requested, lead and/or contribute to a variety of professional development training sessions for undergraduate admissions staff.
Requirements
- Knowledge and experience typically acquired by:
- Bachelor's degree or higher degree
- 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in university admissions, including individual and/or committee-based application evaluation
- Strong understanding of CRM management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- This role requires strategic thinking in a fast-paced environment and a strong understanding of holistic admissions in a highly selective context.
- The Director of Admissions Selection must be an approachable leader with excellent communication skills, who is comfortable soliciting and providing feedback.
- A valid U.S. driver's license is required, along with the willingness and ability to drive to various

- Prior management of selection portfolio for a highly-selective institution
- Strong understanding of, and experience with, Technolutions Slate CRM
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Tufts University undergraduate experience
- Fluency in a second language
- Minimum $81,200.00, Midpoint $101,600.00, Maximum $120,900.00
